They financed the construction of the Promenade so they could stroll along the sea and enjoy the sunshine. In this way, the Promenade des Anglais became a landmark, bearing the name of the first visitors who created it.
If you’re looking for a unique experience, explore this coastal jewel by Segway or bike, and treat yourself to an unparalleled perspective of freedom and discovery.
Along the way, discover the iconic highlights of the Promenade des Anglais, Belle Epoque architecture, beaches and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean.

4. Taste our local specialties
Sun-drenched flavors on your plate ? Let us take you on a unique culinary journey through the cuisine of Nice.
Start your culinary adventure with Socca: a chickpea flour pancake that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Continue with a Niçoise salad featuring tomatoes, black olives, anchovies, eggs and fresh tuna, before moving on to pissaladière, a Provençal tart topped with candied onions, anchovies and black olives.
Finally, for dessert, enjoy a sweet Swiss chard pie made with chard, pine nuts and raisins.
